Terms of Service

SoIRL is currently in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed at any time.

The Services may allow you to pick a username to participate. You are responsible for activity under the name you choose.

The Services use your general area to connect you to nearby chat zones. Your exact location is never stored or shared.

You are responsible for the content you post, including messages, photos, and any other submissions ("User Content").

Messages are designed to disappear after about 24 hours. To operate and secure the Services, some temporary processing or short-term storage may occur (for example for delivery, abuse prevention, or reliability).

When using the Services, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or target others, or encourage violence.
• Post illegal content or content that infringes others' rights.
• Share personal information about others (doxxing).
• Spam, scrape, or attempt to overload or disrupt the Services.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Attempt to bypass security or access non-public areas.

We may remove content, limit visibility, or suspend access to the Services at any time, including to protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.

The Services (including the app, website, and branding) are owned by SoIRL and its licensors.

You retain rights to your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely to operate, improve, and protect the Services.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, especially during beta.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SoIRL will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
